When I am walking I am usually carrying my camera, unless it is raining. There are moments with flowers, birds, cats, nature in general. I create note cards, aceo's and more from my photos.BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.comBlogger21125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-86374263969874608942012-01-11T07:09:00.000-08:002012-01-11T07:15:12.478-08:00"THE WILL OF GOD WILL NEVER LEAD YOU WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WOULDN'T PROTECT YOU"<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVghaV0PUSISljylVav66-w6qI5BcsdAsB2j746DkFahRbXfTb3xKYA069gXgSRM8eQMCnGpKIBfZqUBO3R2GnEVRXZWEIBNhSlmQ-xEnWmVwlnQW8QpRYC8JqAQ2SMYdUAftnGHwbEGU/s1600/FacesOfJesus.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 293px; height: 389px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVghaV0PUSISljylVav66-w6qI5BcsdAsB2j746DkFahRbXfTb3xKYA069gXgSRM8eQMCnGpKIBfZqUBO3R2GnEVRXZWEIBNhSlmQ-xEnWmVwlnQW8QpRYC8JqAQ2SMYdUAftnGHwbEGU/s400/FacesOfJesus.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5696392816946146834" /></a><br /><br />"THE WILL OF GOD WILL NEVER LEAD YOU WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WOULDN'T PROTECT YOU"<br /><br />LOOK AT THIS CLOSELY<br /><br />A man in Argentina received this picture and called it "junk mail", 8 days later his son died.. No place is decorated the same, every ones ideas are different. Some do with big displays other with simple. The cost can be high with the electrical bill. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love to look but can't afford to run the power bill up. We have some in the community that just have wreaths up with a light shining on it. They are gorgeous. Another one in the community has evey imaginable blow up scene you can buy. But...it is especially important to remember what Christmas is really about. The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. That is the true meaning of celebration. The lights are beautiful as long as we remember this most important fact.</div><br /><div></div>BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-50770134835235035892010-05-05T13:40:00.001-07:002010-05-05T13:49:37.210-07:00Magnolia Blossoms<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNO8p-iTblGd025oiN9SqllmhehNipH6OHaB8LXmvCIoULBWeES5OMXsKn7t88Qgg4aDhDq0pzVP4-IPK61AYbavaYfZ1gMHSosEOQ0Y6qrUm9dfIlDrYM1Pgh2tJQfRiZDf1mlASeePM/s1600/100_6934.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467888963054700034" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNO8p-iTblGd025oiN9SqllmhehNipH6OHaB8LXmvCIoULBWeES5OMXsKn7t88Qgg4aDhDq0pzVP4-IPK61AYbavaYfZ1gMHSosEOQ0Y6qrUm9dfIlDrYM1Pgh2tJQfRiZDf1mlASeePM/s320/100_6934.jpg" /></a><br /><div><br />The magnificent magnolia tree has the most beautiful huge blossoms to display. Most years I haven't been able to take a decent photo to show, but this seems to be a better year. Yesterday while walking the neighborhood just before it began to rain I discovered one in bloom. Knowing it was going to rain I didn't take my camera, so knew I would have to return to take the photos. Some came out well others not. The one I was really hoping for didn't. It had four bees buzzing through a blossom.<br />But, I will take what I'm blessed to get. It is a huge tree that towers in the space it occupies. The sun was bright and beating on me, so wasn't sure any would be of good quality.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPLBDcDicT1bI4HDet-g59AZWHUy1xyZLRaHQC4tQDkThUxkKXZMBsYhQg34dgZqQqnOoR7i_c0uF3PDacec7avm0Vt10IUpteJb6lbtG4VTVirnGjDG7Gpi0rCAQVUvzNajXJ97Biu1M/s1600/100_6938.jpg"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzyWxbT5N72x-c3l2EAYj6VgMj7iKpG9sQguA_oszfC0A4lfkwZ1MnDW4_OcXW8n4GDxcRdAJ8KYIru_If5Icb10BDYKCOPtJ7vo5b0tzVNkodAAkad20MgW6arpRsFTymhYnQrEed7eo/s1600/100_6937.jpg"></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjXatySMEOsKMU7YbckWW9cHaVTNkS9tfub58kSK0Js6EiCCDC3OKBB4nw_jSmG_hoT7Bhgx3wA61JzQP-FJPuyZqv3q-ms-9tjIM7d-2TX_J5D-hEa-4aHlKa-1Xu11-wEyggi7w_FU0/s1600/100_6930.jpg"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhftWIE5PH6EXu7j5czuadlFd69atX-FfKrvUpIGaIWfkqMPjXQT71bxAeDaxbLqT8D8sf_i7FgsM0Ap5drbE9wk_0QlvOVDeu-Z0zV5xlwrWpFLq42N2l4HYwLuIVyVDD62HoAydfJalg/s1600/100_6931.jpg"></a></div>BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-60429667599061538912009-09-20T11:17:00.000-07:002009-09-20T11:26:47.600-07:00Some Creating Going On Lately<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBK_RZk5ya4L1Ke1VAtU4_TsOQDALHWB5dx1YYdlNg_nnTz9S29IUm4rfn-2mC_yBYvueU3lMKmzFOSe3km7t1fyPNAdRDDoucddJKHCSA8YDtj2760wPIoFvwGAlbk2bd3S7zjs7QF4E/s1600-h/SocietyLady.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 148px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5383617447141693122" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBK_RZk5ya4L1Ke1VAtU4_TsOQDALHWB5dx1YYdlNg_nnTz9S29IUm4rfn-2mC_yBYvueU3lMKmzFOSe3km7t1fyPNAdRDDoucddJKHCSA8YDtj2760wPIoFvwGAlbk2bd3S7zjs7QF4E/s200/SocietyLady.jpg" /></a> Lately, about the only creating I have done is ACEO/ATC's. Well, on closer inspection I saw a skank lizard laying next to her. Me and my camera instinct took it with me. I took several photos, then took a stick and poked at it to see if it was still alive. They are noted for playing dead. Sure enough it was still moving.<br /><br />Shadow was being very protective of her catch and showing me how proud she was. I gingerly tricked her a few times trying to get its tail and throw it away. Each time a piece of its tail broke in my fingers and it fell very short of my mark. Finally, it was close enough to my azalea bushes on the back fence line so I used a stick to toss it into them.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5PMqsNeqh_DSzJAc_HT_GrwggKlvEajJgwQy_GmsU_sdkDwYhBEVUOb8Y1kvQO5WvO_rIuzzYuP6hvH6FpchLrXUWYi7s2w0l1tw0AHmnolJGjVqQsZQ6ZiG147IIfDA5mHmUvEa1ZDc/s1600-h/100_4043.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5PMqsNeqh_DSzJAc_HT_GrwggKlvEajJgwQy_GmsU_sdkDwYhBEVUOb8Y1kvQO5WvO_rIuzzYuP6hvH6FpchLrXUWYi7s2w0l1tw0AHmnolJGjVqQsZQ6ZiG147IIfDA5mHmUvEa1ZDc/s200/100_4043.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332067380050646610" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaK97Bz9RGQWWEO8pSsQByS6w7eBqNPUa4GryHCObcVYAHLltLQcS_nfSv5nhqvcfl1mtUncmZZUNe8THourYs2EIk9du1ObTxE5QqGoNlRIL3reWK8PJquvXaMem77c88gCffht7DvUc/s1600-h/100_4044.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaK97Bz9RGQWWEO8pSsQByS6w7eBqNPUa4GryHCObcVYAHLltLQcS_nfSv5nhqvcfl1mtUncmZZUNe8THourYs2EIk9du1ObTxE5QqGoNlRIL3reWK8PJquvXaMem77c88gCffht7DvUc/s200/100_4044.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332067389974074514" border="0" /></a>Survive??? They are kind of cute.BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-14216801056583158322009-03-12T18:17:00.000-07:002009-03-12T18:49:21.593-07:00Little Visitor<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb6_EAhxNQdiW8R2s90bg9Q4t_udBzPetNB2hgGo6yv0Pvdtq6PO6B-cVzJS613kHf_hXRYJfMAEAgHZBhkpQLLL9jSoFRsLRBeYWa6ERtKC95HgwIuE5KLChHxOxb1AxHroufqIF4yEc/s1600-h/100_3750.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 172px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb6_EAhxNQdiW8R2s90bg9Q4t_udBzPetNB2hgGo6yv0Pvdtq6PO6B-cVzJS613kHf_hXRYJfMAEAgHZBhkpQLLL9jSoFRsLRBeYWa6ERtKC95HgwIuE5KLChHxOxb1AxHroufqIF4yEc/s200/100_3750.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5312482487495471074" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3rp4TA4e8iAUG6Z_UM4zgNm3biwwnzqBpC2x7wU0ox0_7aDEtTVM5MFiQyNgTRnvYpHhwJDucL26XH5SovK-iEx0SV0xns3HiWwSdYjAInIclG1LJcTrB_t7-H2irxGXe0JxnR3g44hU/s1600-h/LittleVisitorB.jpg"> </a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaYZgsPZxt23Hiqr-3rLJf-QruWrLVolDa3Ri9n5VjC4RwAI4Q4IcYbE74X0GWj3vxdR2wBA3hbsQtFmvVHpI9-J9fiTMd0pVNzfGstMKFHONZ_jlumrLE2N_8_mh3FlG1DqbhLyd6PUw/s1600-h/LittleVisitorA.jpg"> </a><br /><br />"Little Visitor" is a tiny lizard I found wandering around our house earlier in the day. <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaYZgsPZxt23Hiqr-3rLJf-QruWrLVolDa3Ri9n5VjC4RwAI4Q4IcYbE74X0GWj3vxdR2wBA3hbsQtFmvVHpI9-J9fiTMd0pVNzfGstMKFHONZ_jlumrLE2N_8_mh3FlG1DqbhLyd6PUw/s1600-h/LittleVisitorA.jpg"></a>It went up over the fireplace front and mantle onto a window curtain topper. They both came to us as older feral kittens over three years ago. Both have very different personalities. One is black and the other is calico. We were warned that calico cats are very independent and like to be the only cat around. She escorts any other cat from the property no matter how big in comparison to her size. I am always taking photos of them. So, when I couldn't find them in their usual spots I went looking for them.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK8x8v-3h59Tlgf5uSgySpSZ-CulpPK5CUq2iID7ixpARan6Ld6G0SXrdWz_6VRhRsqF42mQ9ZjvzGBgBrXYYdUAr82WgJVx0wNSzU6tsZOMjV1q4lgrVcnbWFzppCr3ieIbMV-5Lx8-0/s1600-h/BlackBeautyOnStereoA.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK8x8v-3h59Tlgf5uSgySpSZ-CulpPK5CUq2iID7ixpARan6Ld6G0SXrdWz_6VRhRsqF42mQ9ZjvzGBgBrXYYdUAr82WgJVx0wNSzU6tsZOMjV1q4lgrVcnbWFzppCr3ieIbMV-5Lx8-0/s200/BlackBeautyOnStereoA.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299434325464435426" border="0" /></a>Black Beauty had taken Shadows spot on the stereo cabinet and <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglnZpPne4YXRVqwI55Vft1pT7e60PFYXJPbAx5JZpE3J1r1EPn_6D4NHUeRjtwLtEBkyqXx_9r0t_qCNUM3GOksyipmSPy2m365PykdNwAuXkW8rt6F5KRcfRj_uLHPCUAtRjyJ13bzb4/s1600-h/ShadowOnKitchenCabinetD.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglnZpPne4YXRVqwI55Vft1pT7e60PFYXJPbAx5JZpE3J1r1EPn_6D4NHUeRjtwLtEBkyqXx_9r0t_qCNUM3GOksyipmSPy2m365PykdNwAuXkW8rt6F5KRcfRj_uLHPCUAtRjyJ13bzb4/s200/ShadowOnKitchenCabinetD.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5299434328989507410" border="0" /></a>Shadow was on top of our kitchen cabinets. I've always understood this based on the freedoms I've enjoyed, but I never realized it in the political sense until this past spring when I had the opportunity to participate as a delegate in the WV Republican Convention (to vote). As I was leaving that event it hit me—regardless of how I voted or who won, I could leave that place where many differences of opinion were expressed without fear. Without fear that I would be verbally or physically attacked or that riots would break out. I understood for the first time the value of our democratic political system. That we can make our opinion known and disagree with others, but in the end we're all still Americans and proud of it!<br /><br /> I am a registered Republican, because most often it is Republican candidates who more closely reflect my personal views and convictions. However, I do not vote straight republican. I review each candidate based on their moral issues first, their voting records second and their political promises last. <br /><br /> I am very strongly opposed to voting ignorantly! I think voting is a precious privilege, but believe it would be better not to vote than to just randomly vote for whoever or whatever. I know people who have voted for someone because they were good looking or because they had the nicest looking signs. In this day and age it is so easy to learn about the candidates and issues, especially if you have Internet. There are unbiased websites that show voting records and the views of candidates as well as personal information about them.<br /><br /> I believe the media (even news media) plays a HUGE part in politics—that what media portrays may have a bigger part in the outcome of an election than even the candidates themselves. While the news is supposed to be objective, I know that just doesn't happen. News media can put any kind of spin on any event or quotation which can portray it totally different than what was intended. I personally know of this occurring to one of my fellow military wives from an interview during Desert Storm. They quoted part of what she said but in light of the rest of what the newscaster said, it came across directly opposite of what she actually said. Aren't newspapers supposed to report news? Then why do candidates seek endorsement from the major newspapers? Because they know the papers will be slanted their way in all the reporting.<br /><br /> While I believe there are a lot of politicians who have strong convictions and a desire to serve the people, I also believe that many politicians are just that—politicians—and very good ones at that; people who know how to play the game, so to speak. They say what they know voters want to hear and make promises that they probably cannot keep completely in light of the fact that they will be a president, not a dictator. One person alone does not rule—they have to work within the checks and balances of the way our government is designed. When there is a debate on TV, one of the first things to follow is a "fact check". <br /> <br />Based on my previous two points, I know I can't believe everything I see on TV or read in the paper. I certainly wouldn't base my vote strictly on that. How do I know what is real and what is just an image portrayed or spin put on by media? That's why I must look at what the previous record of the candidate is. How did they vote on the issues that are important to me? Did they change their votes-flip flop? Does what they say match what they've done in office?<br /><br />Lastly, but most importantly, I have to vote based on the fact that I am a Christian and believe Scripture to be the Word of God. I cannot compartmentalize my life and put my Christianity in one compartment and my political views in another. What I believe about God and what Scripture teaches me must be intertwined with all of my being—including how I vote. I cannot vote contrary to what God teaches in His Word (abortion, homosexuality, marriage, etc.). If a candidate supports issues that are contrary to God's Word, I would be agreeing with and supporting those issues by voting for him. Therefore, even if I agree or disagree with a candidate on other issues (economy, health care, the war, etc), when it comes to Biblical values I have to stand on the side of Right! How could I expect or even dare ask God to "Bless America" if I do otherwise!?!BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-13331091512823647872008-08-14T07:40:00.000-07:002008-08-14T07:41:34.111-07:00I have been absent for a long time in Hospital!Just to update everyone why I haven't been around. I got real sick and ended up in the hospital July 11 to Aug 7. Ended up having emergency surgery and having a colostmy bag and having 14 inch of colon taken out. Kidney biopsy, bone marrow test. Still they are not sure what happened. It is sooo good to be back home. I have home health care come in almost daily to check my vitals. They took so much blood in that time span. I had about 7 IV's they put in and 2 pick lines that they could draw blood without searching(probing) for a vein to get it from daily. They put the fluids to me the first 48 hours and my kidneys wouldn't let it go, so I had 40lbs too much they had to find a way to get rid of. My feet and legs could not support that much weight immediatly put on. I almost collapsed each time they tried to get me out of bed. From about 165 lbs to over 200 lbs. in 48 hours. It will be a slow recovery but know with God's help I will make it. I got camera happy to want to show a couple of photo I took walking in the opposite direction than we usually do in our neighborhood. This house is beautiful and my photo doesn't do it justice. And the rose is high so they have it strapped to a tree.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi4laRiNoAlx3Q3znExqcTghm0aayO6v3gE1TfEYi_TjEno122howHyr5dc2nHHZsBZ65VWGkCqret9aCpmZoXataE0BknO3zusaLCz0id4bXovai2WG17EsHkvepG4bGNXf1OraYzqc8/s1600-h/100_2548.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhi4laRiNoAlx3Q3znExqcTghm0aayO6v3gE1TfEYi_TjEno122howHyr5dc2nHHZsBZ65VWGkCqret9aCpmZoXataE0BknO3zusaLCz0id4bXovai2WG17EsHkvepG4bGNXf1OraYzqc8/s200/100_2548.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219206049524454226" border="0" /></a></div>BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-29653465919667280072008-06-25T19:25:00.000-07:002008-06-25T19:30:52.190-07:00Mating Lizards on rake handleHave you ever come across a scene that totally amazed you, but threw you for a loop. I was sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window when I saw movement on the handle of a rake my husband left leaning on our holly shrub. It was lizards mating. I grabbed my camera and took a slew of photos. They realized I was watching them but just rotated around to the back of the rake handle. Below is a slide show of the lizards.<br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2FMeMeBevs%2Falbumid%2F5196304054358119953%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1766961197282120946.post-3790496555832690122008-06-24T05:12:00.000-07:002008-06-24T05:15:30.708-07:00Our Neighbor Ben & Cindy's CatTheir big tom cat slinking around our yard without our cats noticing him, very unlikely as you will see. He actually came onto our back deck and discovered our black cat under the decking and charged her. Not a wise idea considering he is declawed and they aren't! Both of our cats gave him a piece of their minds. That flurry of action was so fast I couldn't get photo of it as I was taking these photos from inside through the window. It would have been amusing to anyone seeing me running from one end of the house to the other getting these shots, while I was trying to eat. He finally left slinking across the back yard again. It was quite amusing.<br /><br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="288" height="192" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2FMeMeBevs%2Falbumid%2F5213281368445294193%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>BN Farringtonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05262931632167422948noreply@blogger.com2
