Christmas time is a wonderful season to see beautiful lights around your neighborhood. No place is decorated the same, every ones ideas are different. Some do with big displays other with simple. The cost can be high with the electrical bill. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love to look but can't afford to run the power bill up. We have some in the community that just have wreaths up with a light shining on it. They are gorgeous. Another one in the community has evey imaginable blow up scene you can buy. But...it is especially important to remember what Christmas is really about. The birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. That is the true meaning of celebration. The lights are beautiful as long as we remember this most important fact.
About Me
- BN Farrington
- Having a large Scottish heritage that migrated from England into Canada to Maine and other states. I am from a family of 9. Six girls and 3 boys. My dad died young when I was about 8 years old. I have 4 children and 3 step children with the great joy of 20 grandchildren. I worked in financial institutions and accounting for many years. Now I sew and make lots of stuffed animals and many other things. I'm a grandmother that has years of sewing in a wide variety of catagories. Photography has become one of my passions over the years. Nature that God has presented us is one of the greatest to photograph. My family and pets hate to see me with a camera in my hands. The bug took hold at Christmas time taking photos of my children in front of the tree. That became a tradition. Then you have family gatherings, vacations, grandchildren and the list could go on.

Magnolia Blossoms
The magnificent magnolia tree has the most beautiful huge blossoms to display. Most years I haven't been able to take a decent photo to show, but this seems to be a better year. Yesterday while walking the neighborhood just before it began to rain I discovered one in bloom. Knowing it was going to rain I didn't take my camera, so knew I would have to return to take the photos. Some came out well others not. The one I was really hoping for didn't. It had four bees buzzing through a blossom.
But, I will take what I'm blessed to get. It is a huge tree that towers in the space it occupies. The sun was bright and beating on me, so wasn't sure any would be of good quality.
